Baisakhi Mondal, 17, has made her parents and teachers proud by scoring 80% marks in her higher secondary examination in the year 2018. She says, “My teachers in school and the FADV learning centre helped me a lot with my studies. My father is agricultural labour, for him, it would not have been possible to support my studies. My elder sister could not complete studies. It is only due to the SAD project that I am not only pursuing higher education but have scored very good marks. It feels great when everybody appreciates me for scoring 80% marks”.
Baisakhi took admission in a college and has taken Bengali honours as her subject. She wants to be a teacher so that she can give back all that she has learnt to her community. Baishakhi loves to support her family members with household work and her teachers the children at her neighbourhood when they find it hard to learn their lesson.
